Maximize Update: Meet the Building Committee


Who is this building committee?  What expertise do they bring to the table? Take a moment to read the bios of each member of our team.  At our most recent church-wide meeting, many of you found it valuable to meet and understand the background that each of these peope bring to the table.  The team is an experienced, knowledgeable, and invested group that will lead us to using our resources as wisely as possible as we MAXIMIZE our campus!

Join us for the next Church Conference on July 24th at 7pm to finalize the loan and building plans for renovation!

Dea Wilkins, Committee Leader

Dea Wilkins built a career in technology consulting management at IBM, Oracle and Texas Instruments. Ms. Wilkins served as the CIO at 2 Fortune 500 companies and led 2 local companies as their CEO. She is currently providing IT Management Consulting services to several companies in the southeast United States.
While Dea’s career has been interesting, her volunteer work has been the most rewarding. Dea became a supporter of prison ministry through her volunteer work at Abe Brown Ministries in Ybor City. She joined the Board of Directors in 2008 and has been the Board Chair for 4 years.
Dea is a member of Bay Hope Church where she is currently serving as the church liaison to the Florida Methodist Conference and also chairs the building committee. Additional volunteer work has included college advisory boards, the YMCA, Friends of the Library, Operation Christmas Child and the Florida Orchestra.
Dea holds a BS in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance from Duke University. 

Corey Meyer

Corey Meyer is currently the Principal of BuildingPoint Florida. Specializing in virtual design consulting and targeted solutions for the construction industry, BuildingPoint provides next generation solutions for Florida contractors throughout the Sunshine State. Prior to founding BuildingPoint, Corey was President/CEO of SITECH Southeast, providing workflows and solutions within the heavy highway and corridor infrastructure markets in the Southeast. With over 18 years dedicated to the construction and design industry, Corey has worked to bring powerful and accessible technology solutions to the challenges facing contractors and project stakeholders.

Kevin Miller

Kevin is driven by a passion for helping lead people in life impactful experiences that challenge them to be their best. He served on pastoral staff at Idlewild Baptist church for 17 years. He is a strategic consultant for churches, non-profits and businesses focusing on transitions and leveraging technology. He is also a corporate trainer and leadership coach with CareSync, a rapidly growing healthcare technology and service company.
He is the proud father of four middle school, high school and college age children. Lover of the outdoors. Enjoy cycling, swimming, running and spending time boating and hanging out on remote beaches. 

Jeff Siddle

Jeff is the Vice President of Planning and Development for Tampa International Airport. He directs and oversees the management of activities relating to the programming, planning, design and construction in support of the Aviation Authority’s capital improvement program.   Jeff is also responsible for developing strategic mater plans and policies for the long-term development and direction of the Aviation Authority's airports.  He has been with Tampa International Airport for 19 years.  Jeff is an active member of Bay Hope Church and has attended since 2008.  He has two grown children and two grandchildren.  

John McCaugherty

John, his wife Lauri, and their two sons Eric and Ryan joined the church in 1995.  John’s boys were active in many of the youth programs as they grew up and John’s family found the church most welcoming.  John has requested to volunteer on several projects in the past and was given his first opportunity to serve with our most recent project.  John has a degree in Building Construction along with an MBA from USF and has worked in the building industry for over 40 years.  John became President of Hawkins in 2010 and has been involved in over fifty Church related projects during his 27 year tenure there. Hawkins Construction has ranked as one of the top 5 largest General Contractors in Tampa Bay since 2010 thus providing John with a vast amount of knowledge and resources he can tap for the building committee. 

Chris Lucas

Chris is a graduate of the University of Florida’s Construction Management School and spent thirteen years in construction industry with two local general contractors.  In 2013, Chris was hired by Jesuit High School as the Director of Institutional Planning to oversee construction of the campus Master Plan.  Chris has been coming to Bay Hope Church for over 30 years and formally became a member in 2013.  He is married with twin 8 year old girls, Jane & Kate, and a 6 year old boy, Cohen.
