Books can be costly for families who are struggling and libraries are not always accessible for families without transportation. buy from amazonRead with individual students weekly in classrooms during school hours and some limited after school times. We invest time and love to inspire kids as they develop vital literacy skills. Buddies visit their class weekly for about 1.5 hours, anytime between 8:00am-noon on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Volunteers may also choose to support teachers in a tutoring role, if desired.
Assist with sorting, shelving and bagging groceries on days when Feeding Tampa Bay delivers food to the pantry. (weekly at Mort for 2-3 hours, biweekly at Woodbridge) Another option is to distribute bagged groceries to school families who come on pick-up days.

Spend a couple of hours weekly helping with book check in, shelving and assisting children with book selection. Encourage and share your love of reading!

Mort Elementary is a community partnership school located near USF on Bearss Ave. Mort was our first adopted school in 2012. We serve Mort as Book Buddies, Food Pantry Helpers, Staff Care and more.
Rosa Valdez Early Learning Center cares for about 65 infant- preschool age children. Cornerstone Family Ministries has operated this childcare center since 1892. It is one of only 2 Nationally Accredited Childcare Centers in the inner-city neighborhood known as Old West Tampa. We sponsor parent-education and child literacy programs and shower their dedicated staff with love.
Woodbridge Elementary was adopted by the Westchase campus in the Town and Country area of Tampa. We help with the school food pantry, read with students and care for staff throughout the year.
Hillsborough County Hospital Homebound Teachers serve students who are medically fragile and cannot attend a physical school. This amazing group of approximately 35 teachers go far beyond the norm to give their students the quality education they deserve.
