What is Baptism?

The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the next step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. During the act of baptism, the believer communicates to the world their heartfelt commitment to Christ. Baptism for older children, youth, and adults at Van Dyke Church is typically by full immersion. If sprinkling is desired, we offer that as well.

Believer Baptism Weekend for Children and Students

This baptism weekend is for kids and students that accepted Christ over the summer at camps and events.

Believer Baptism Weekend: August 12 & 13

The Baptism Class for Students is online.  An email will be sent after the registration is received with the information regarding the online class.
Children and Parent(s) must attend Starting Line Classes to prepare your child for baptism.  Please register for the class.

Infant Baptism Weekend

Because an infant is not able to personally accept God’s gift of grace, the parents become part of the baptismal covenant.
Parents will be asked to make a covenant to help cultivate their children’s spiritual development and teach them to live a life true to the gospel, worship God, learn from the Scriptures, and prepare the child to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.

Infant Baptism Weekend:  Oct 14/15

The Baptism Class is the Sunday before at 11:15 in the Chapel.
